I am now reading "MAN IN WHITE -a novel about the apostle paul" by Johnny Cash

Here is a paragraph from the introduction into the book that Johnny Cash writes explaining how and why he wrote it. In this paragraph Johnny Cash explains the books he took with him to read during the last 5 years he was touring as a professional musician.

"I went to a Western store in Los Angeles and bought saddlebags that I carried over my shoulders for the last five years of my travels. In the bag was my "book". Also the Thompson Chain-Reference Bible; the New International Version; the Catholic Bible; and from time to time, Everyday Life in Jesus' Time; Foxe's Book of Martyrs; A History of the Early Church; The Twelve Apostles; The Twelve Caesars; the Jewish Encyclopedia; and the writings of the Romanized Jewish historian Flavius Josephus."

Johnny ends the introduction with describing an event in his life that was his closest comparable experience to Paul's Damascus road experience. It was a dream he had about his father the day before the funeral.

I have also had a closest life experience to Paul's that is similar to Johnny Cash's in that it had to do with the death of family members. Unlike Johnny's mine was not a dream it happened in real life. My dad's side of the family always went on summer vacations to Hilton Head Island, SC. I had not been since I was in college, probably 20 years old, and I decided to go the summer of 2016 for the first time in about 17 years or so. I brought my mandolin with me because it is a smaller instrument that is more portable and easier to pack. I got up a couple mornings really early to watch the sun rise over the ocean. The first time I got up at 5am so it was still really dark when I got out there. I sat in a chair and played my mandolin. I started singing, "Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. If I could see one shooting star tonight, that would make me so happy." Right when I said it, at the moment I finished the sentence, to the millisecond, and shooting star went across the sky in front of me. I immediately starting praising GOD and getting on my knees in the sand and worshipping Him. It was a Spiritual moment for me. That was also the last summer vacation to Hilton Head Island, SC that my grandfather Raines would ever take. He died later that Fall. I went for the first time in a long time and got to spend his last summer vacation with him, and I believe that GOD was telling me that my grandfather is in Heaven with him. I also walked with grandfather Raines at the Baltimore Lungevity walk that we did to honour my cousin Monica, who died of cancer, and that was the last time he did that also. Grandfather Raines also was admitted into the hospital around the time of 'homecoming' for JMU before he died. I was still living in Culpeper at the time, but went to JMU's homecoming football game (This was also my first time doing this since my college years.) and visited my grandparents that evening, the day before he went to the hospital. JMU is the big college around here that he and gma supported by going to basketball games on a regular basis when healthy. There is a much bigger homecoming in the sky with JESUS when we die! John 14:6

(F.Y.I.) Monica, my cousin, died on the day the "Son of God" movie premiered nationally in America. The couple that made that movie also made, "The Bible" series. The wife is known for being on the show Touched by an Angel, where she played an angel named Monica.

I believe GOD was relaying two pieces of information here about both my grandfather and cousin, that their faith in JESUS was both seen and rewarded by GOD, who they are now with in Heaven.

Live by faith in GOD not sight, and know that GOD is real. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes from the Word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)

Psalm 150 New American Standard Bible 150 Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. 2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. 3 Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. 4 Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flute. 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Everything that has breath shall praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
