"Fellowship Labyrinth To JESUS"

I have procrastinated on this oil painting a lot, partly because I have been trying to do several other things. I think it is done, unless I see some corrections I want to make later. Thank GOD for both giving me and being the inspiration for this and other art projects. I hope to work on more paintings in the near and distant future for GOD's glory. I am nothing without Him! Thanks JESUS!

A bit of an explanation on this. I attended an event at EMU called Beats for Mozambique that was a fundraiser for that country due to a natural disaster there. (This may have contributed to JESUS being dark skinned, I didn't really plan it that way ahead of time, but the tones I used just ended up like that.) There was an open art gallery and open mic, so I participated in both. A friend of mine who was an EMU student and is now graduated asked me if I'd make her a piece of art and she gave me the two scriptures on this piece of art as inspiration for it's creation. This is my first oil painting.

The arrows with feathers- The feathers are representative of those that wait on the Lord will lift up on wings like eagles from Isaiah 40:31. The arrow heads on the feathers represent the importance of children in church and fellowship. (Psalm 127:3-5) All the feathers are heading toward JESUS.

Body Parts -They are painted to look like bushes since this is a labyrinth. This is representing a labyrinth in the way that it is like a maze, but instead of only one path leading to the center (JESUS), all the paths lead there. The body parts symbolise body of Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12) A labyrinth also symbolises Proverbs 16:9, because in this life we can't always chose the most direct/exact route we want to take so we surrender to the path in life ahead of us with help from GOD, and we need others to help us (body of Christ) along the way, so we are not completely independent of others in Christ. We can be self willed in the flesh, but when GOD is directing our steps in Spirit all roads lead to JESUS.

Vine -The vine is from John 15 and is in the shape of a cross. There is only fruit on the vine where the vine touches a bush (body part), to represent not forsaking the assembly. (Hebrews 10:25) The red and blue fruit is actually a representation of men and women. Men and women definitely have differences, but are equally loved by GOD.

JESUS -The sun is behind JESUS to symbolise great light as man commonly knows it here on this earth, and because sun and Son are pronounced the same way. JESUS stands out in front of that source of great light the 'world' recognises, the sun, because the Light of GOD the Son is far greater in comparison. The son is still brilliant though because GOD doesn't hate His own creation, GOD made the son. GOD's Light makes the sun's light great because it is His. JESUS has a crown of thorns still to represent what is written in 1 Corinthians 13

1 Corinthians 13:12-13 12 "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, and love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

The crown in the sky represents that JESUS is our King and that we will truly see that in the real sense when we get to Heaven where JESUS will really be sitting on a throne as our Saviour and King. (I will know fully) JESUS has wings to represent He is GOD, the source of all things, and the greatest. The wings are made up of feathers, so all the feathers on the path towards Him would be in awe of His big beautiful wings full of many feathers. The wings also represent that JESUS is the King of angels as well.
